Indians Again, Ringwood East

Indians Again as its name suggests is an Indian restaurant located in Ringwood East, opposite the train station. It was probably by chance that we stumbled across this gem. We were trying a new restaurant in the vicinity and saw this one, decided to come back to try it out.

The restaurant is clean and welcoming, the staff had a big smile for us as we entered the restaurant. It was air conditioned, which was a blessing in the hot weather. I dislike restaurants where the odour of the restaurant sticks to the clothes post the meal, which most commonly happens in places like Korean BBQ and Indian restaurants. Fortunately Indians Again has a very efficient air ventilation system in the kitchen.

We ordered the chicken tikka pakora ($9.95) as entree. It was freshly fried, the batter was crispy and the chicken tikka pieces were juicy. This is a really good entree for carnivores!

For mains we ordered the chicken saagwala ($16.95) and lamb rogan josh ($17.95) with garlic naan ($3.50) and saffron rice ($5.95).

The chicken saagwala is cooked with pureed spinach and cream, which gives it a rich and creamy taste but also balanced with an element of freshness from the spinach.

Did you know that rogan josh is possibly so called because of the colour of the curry? Red = rouge. I might be totally wrong but the flavour of this dish was great. I am no Indian food connoisseur but I think it tastes better than the other rogan josh I've had in other Indian restaurants.

My only complaint with the two curries were that they were a little salty. Other than that, they tasted great and we even used every bit of the naan and rice to eat up all the sauce.

If you have a craving for good indian food and is in the area, it is worth coming to this restaurant.
