Polaris Grill, Box Hill

There is some allure to a hot charcoal grill and platefuls of meat to grill with on a cold rainy autumn's night. Shortly after we entered the restaurant last week, the skies opened and the heavens released its dam doors. The restaurant was full of like minded people, all spotting happy faces warmed by the hot grill in front of them.

We got a Groupon deal for $39 for two persons. The set consists of lamb and beef slices, chicken wings, pork belly slices, enoki mushrooms, button mushroom slices, onions, mantou slices and potato slices. There were plenty of meat to go feed the two of us.

While waiting for our pan of hot charcoal to be ready, we got a few bones to gnaw on, and lemon tea or chinese beer to quench our thirst. There is also a plate of chinese cabbage salad on the side.

We opted to grill our own food, rather than waiting for the harried waitress to help us. Some of the food turned out burnt around the edges, but it was still good! We also sprinkled some of the bbq sauce and soy sauce on the meat as it grilled to give it some flavour. For dipping sauce, the minced garlic in oil was a favourite. Garlic is anti bacterial!

There were other sets with seafood as well, which costs slightly more which we are keen to try the next time.

There is a baking paper on top of the grill so that one can change the paper and avoid the burnt pieces from sticking onto the food.

Once we finished our meal, the skies cleared and we were able to make our way to the newly washed car without being drenched.
